Bonjour, family and friends!
What an adventure it has already been! Six days of traveling feels like 2 months of "normal life". Rach and I have seen so many wonderful sights already and have learned a lot about the nature of traveling in a foreign country (don't look pathetically lost, but don't be afraid to ask for help! Key phrase so far has definitely been "Parlez-vous l'anglais?"). It's hard to believe that our time in Paris is already over, but we were very ready to retrieve from the bustling city and head for the quiet countryside today.
Our first host couple, Sandy and Roger, are most delightful people from England who have done an incredible job of renovating this 200 yr old villa. They have taken great pains to keep it looking as authentically ancient and French as possible. Every corner of the house and outdoor grounds is reason to pull out my camera :)
Before I get carried away, though, I'll have to back up and share the happenings of Paris from the beginning. I'll begin the tale of our adventures this evening, after a short nap;)
